The Intranet is great for compliance too - no staff member can ever say they haven't received or seen a particular document.
In addition to the Staff Intranet, we use our website partly as a window for recruitment - prospective new advisers can see we provide a professional web presence and can research us before they meet with us.
We have added the Portfolio Adviser system to our site and would regard this as the most valuable feature of our site. It enables clients to view their plans and policies by linking portfolio summary information from our back office system with our website. This facility is proving to be very useful to clients; although the majority of our clients are in the 60+ 'grey market', many of these clients regard it as a nice hobby to see how their investments are doing.
